Q: How do Top Language Academy online courses operate?
A: Top Language Academy designates a teacher to assess the student’s language abilities and needs during a free 20 minute lesson. Following this assessment, the language trainer will design a pack of classes adapted to the student’s needs and objectives.
Instructors will teach lessons using a web camera within a video call to communicate and display lesson material that the student and teacher can interact with. Lessons are as effective as those held in a classroom. Students will learn language and practice it with our teachers easily from the comfort of their house, office or whatever place they are. You will only need an internet connection.
Q: How does learning through webcam technology and Skype work?
A: Instructors and students use the internet to connect through webcams. They can hear and see each other live! The teacher calls the student at the date and time previously discussed upon for the lesson. As the instructor teaches, the student follows along, interacts and even performs written exercises by typing words on the screen that the teacher can see too!
Q: Who can benefit of our online language classes?
A: From doctors, to entrepreneurs, to corporate executives, to university students, people around the world are learning languages online from the comfort of their house or office. Top Language Academy provides online language training and offers you the advantages of overcoming geographical and scheduling obstacles. The flexibility of individual, live, online classes allows teachers to tailor lessons to one student’s learning style and to develop areas of weakness.
Q: What are the advantages of enrolling in online language courses instead of a face-to-face class?
A: A few of the many advantages of online language courses:
- Flexibility – teachers and students are not limited by scheduling and geographical constraints
- Comfort – you can benefit of the peaceful and cozy atmosphere of your house or you may make a meaningful use of your lunch break in order to take full advantages of a private lesson
- Effective time management – online language courses will help you gain better control of your time due to avoiding driving to and from a language school, traffic jam and parking problems
Q: It is my first language course through a webcam. What will it be like?
A: During the lessons, the main focal point for both teacher and student is the language material displayed in the skype message box. The screen of your computer takes the place of a whiteboard presentation in a traditional classroom. You can expect to answer questions, have conversations and get pronunciation practice with your teacher, in addition to writing on the skype message window and reading.
Q: How can I choose a language program suitable for my needs?
A: During a 20 minutes free session, a teacher will assess your language skills and you will have the opportunity to discuss your objectives for the course. Upon this discussion, you will receive a price quotation tailored to your time schedule and your objectives.
Q: How can I pay for my language course?
A: Following the free session with our teacher, we will design a pack of lessons tailored to your needs. You will be issued an invoice and then you can proceed to payment. You can opt either for online banking or visiting your bank and completing payment forms in person. You must pay the fee for your courses prior to your first lesson.
Q: Can I get a certificate at the end of my course?
A: At the end of their course, students will be evaluated and will be issued a certificate of completion graded in accordance with The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, often referred to as CEFR*.
*CEFR is an international standard for working out your ability within a language. It was established by the Council of Europe and aims to validate language ability. The six levels within the CEFR are A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2.
